BLACK TAJ MAHAL for SunburnFestival's Mainstage confirmed in an interview !

What does the future hold for Sunburn?
I didn’t travel to a single other festival in the first five years of Sunburn, and I did that intentionally, because I felt the only way Sunburn could be a truly international festival is if it had its own DNA that’s not influenced by any other festival. We did it on our own. 50% experience, 50% music. The future is going to be an extension of that formula. On the music side, line-ups will continue evolving and expanding. On the experience side, if you look at the main stage design, you’ll see we’re dying to propagate our history and culture and creativity with international technology-culture.
So Sunburn’s looking as a brand to be a mixture of Indian elegance and international technology. Next year we’re doing a black Taj Mahal, because there was meant to be two Taj Mahal, but Shah Jahan died. Sunburn up until now has been crazy. We build the whole site in 20 days – this next installation we’re building will take six months. It’s about making the brand part of the new Indian heritage.

Now in its 8th year, Sunburn Goa continues to be the biggest and most exciting EDM event in Asia. This year’s jam-packed lineup includes a host of exciting talent from all corners of the dance music industry. From heavy-hitters like MAKJ, DANNIC and Far Too Loud, to the live performance of Klingande, and the underground presence of Jamie Jones, the festival has something for everyone.  Before we head out for our adventure at India’s flagship festival, we explored the lineup and marked down our 8 can’t miss acts for Sunburn’s 8th birthday.

KLINGANDE

Klingande are the true pioneers of the melodic house movement. Their breakthrough hit “Jubel” set in motion one of 2014′s greatest trends — the soulful sax line.  Pairing live performance into their tropical DJ sets, the French duo bring something more to the table and create a dynamic and engaging environment without over-produced cheese.

EELKE KLEIJN

Another Ultra Records signee and melodic house first mover, Eelke Kleijn, arrives at Sunburn hot on the release of “Mistakes I’ve Made.”  The Avicii-supported talent will provide the perfect soundtrack to the shimmering beaches of Vagator, pairing four-to-the-floor beats with swinging guitar riffs and free-flowing energy.

MAKJ

If you’re going to make your way to the main stage, go for MAKJ. Unapologetic and in your face, MAKJ’s set is going to be festival banger after the banger and that’s the point. If you’re looking to let loose tracks like “Generic,” “Let’s Get Fucked Up” and “READY!” will definitely do the trick. Every festivalgoer needs at least one set to go nuts — may as well make it MAKJs.

KREWELLA

Now officially a duo, the Krewella sisters take to the stage with something to prove. Expect their classics as well as a ton of new material that Jahan and Yasmine have been cooking up in the post-Rainman era. Still one of the most fun live performances in EDM today, the Krew will be alive and well at Sunburn.

SASHA

There’s a DJ set and then there’s Sasha. Responsible for some of the greatest dance music mix albums of all time, Sasha is a must see at Sunburn 2014. It’s been over 2 years since the release of Involv3r and the Italian born producer/DJ has undoubtedly been toiling away in the studio.  Let Sasha take you on a journey, you won’t regret it.

DANNIC

DANNIC brings the finest electro in the business to Goa’s shores for his stint at Sunburn. The Revealed Recordings is fresh off a killer collab alongside Shermanology “Wait For You.” The protege to the biggest DJ in the world, Hardwell, DANNIC honed his ability to throw down a blistering set of dancefloor destroyers with one of the best in the business.

JAMIE JONES

The Hot Creations founder and proponent of all things house music, Jamie Jones invades the hippie-founded Goa with some of the grooviest cuts dance music has to offer. With a laudable 2014 of landmark moments that started with one of the most memorable sets of BPM, Mr. Jones seeks to close out his year in style. Dip your toes in the sand and let Jamie’s beats twist you well into the morning hours.

FAR TOO LOUD

The dirtiest electro that Sunburn has to offer will come at the hands of Far Too Loud. Face-melting squeals and wobbles will shake the beach to its bedrock while the Brighton-born talent unleashes his space age monstrosities. Breakneck-paced, Far Too Loud will provide a can’t miss freak out amidst the tropical location.
